Tracking midweek rain chances with a nice looking weekend around the corner
TODAY: Tuesday will be a brighter day overall, with less cloud cover. Early this morning the clear skies will mean a chance for fog, but soon enough, the sun will help mix out the fog, and allow for a warmup into the low-to-mid 70s by the afternoon. Winds will generally be from the east at less than 10 mph through the day.
TONIGHT: Clouds will increase this evening, leading to mostly cloudy skies overnight, and a chance for rain mostly after midnight. Winds remain light from the east southeast. Temperatures hold steady in the 50s overnight.
EXTENDED: Starting mild, temperatures won't have far to climb to return to the 70s. Our main round of rain will hold off until Wednesday. Those in the south with a better chance at showers by the daylight hours will likely see temperatures stick in the 60s through the day, but those in the central to northern parts of the region will have a chance for temperatures reaching into the 70s. Showers will move in from the southwest, likely decreasing in intensity and coverage to the north. On Thursday, we'll have more shower and thunderstorm chances primarily in the south before a cold front pushes moisture out through the day. While best rain chances and totals will be south of I-70, everyone has a chance at rain over Wednesday and Thursday. By Friday, skies are drier and temps are cooler. We expect highs in the 60s to low 70s. A gradual warmup comes with dry conditions over the weekend. 70s, if not 80s are expected through the weekend into early next week. Small disturbances could impact the dry forecast over the weekend into early next week, but chances are very low for now.
