Tracking Friday afternoon strong to severe storms
TODAY: The atmosphere will be quite stable through the day, so storm development is unlikely. If we do see storms develop, though, they would likely become severe. High temperatures push to nearly 80 degrees this afternoon. South winds will help with this. Winds will be sustained around 15-25 mph, gusting to 35+ at times.
TONIGHT: It's most likely that we stay completely dry tonight. Winds from the south continue overnight around 10-15 mph. Temperatures fall into the 60s.
EXTENDED: We'll be warmer on Friday, back into the low 80s with more windy southwest winds. We'll have storms developing by the late afternoon into the evening that may be severe. Friday is an ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day. For more on this, read our ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day Blog. Rain will be the biggest impact areawide. Especially in conjunction with waves of rain to follow over the rest of the Easter Weekend. We'll have a cold rainy day on Saturday, with highs in the 50s. We may warm into the 60s as we pick up more rain and storms on Sunday. After 1-3 inches of rain over the weekend, we'll dry up Monday and Tuesday. Temperatures will warm to near 70s again by Monday, and into the 70s Tuesday.
