Tracking scattered storms with isolated hail overnight
TONIGHT: Increasing clouds with scattered storms moving in from the south overnight. Some storms could contain isolated quarter size hail. Temperatures falling into the upper 40s.
TOMORROW: Scattered storms through late morning with decreasing clouds through the day. Gusty winds and slightly cooler with highs in the lower 60s.
EXTENDED: I'm tracking low pressure that will trigger scattered showers and storms across southern Missouri after midnight, drifting north of I-44 and bringing the potential of heavy downpours and isolated 1" hail. Storms will bring about 0.25" to 0.5" of needed rain before pressing east out of the area by or before midday Sunday, leaving us with gusty winds and slightly cooler temperatures in the lower 60s. Next week starts off breezy with increasing clouds ahead of a weak front that pulls through by Monday night. Tuesday is warmer with highs back into the upper 60s, with quiet weather until Thursday. The pattern becomes more active with rounds of showers and storms between Thursday and Sunday, with some dry time in between. Temperatures will be warmer to end the week with highs in the 70s Thursday through Saturday. The most likely time frame for widespread rain and thunder will be Saturday into Sunday with 0.5" to 1" of rain possible.
