Tracking a warm and windy Monday with a high fire danger

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and breezy with lows in the lower 30s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and windy with an elevated fire danger. Avoid any outdoor burning or tossing cigarettes. Highs in the lower to mid-70s.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking strong gusty winds as warmer air quickly works back into Mid-Missouri following a chilly weekend. With low humidity and continued dry conditions, a Red Flag Warning is in effect for much of Mid-Missouri on Monday. We saw wildfires spark across many places on Friday, and similar conditions could set up yet again, especially near the Lake of the Ozarks. Tuesday will be warm and windy again as highs reach the upper 70s. Rain chances pick up late Tuesday night through Wednesday as another cold front moves in, bringing showers and potentially a few snow showers as colder air moves in behind on Wednesday night. The end of the week will be cooler with highs in the lower 50s Thursday and lower 60s Friday. Expect another chance of rain between Friday night and Saturday, and potentially again on Sunday.
