Tracking additional snow accumulation through late tonight, bitter temperatures

TONIGHT: Snow continues through late tonight, with an additional 2-4" accumulation possible, especially along and south of I-70. Lows in the single digits with wind chills around -10.

TOMORROW: Mostly cloudy, blustery, and cold with wind chills in the low single digits. Flurries possible, but no accumulation is expected.

EXTENDED: The second, more impactful wave of snowfall continues to push through Mid-Missouri this afternoon into this evening, with the highest snowfall rates south of the Missouri River. Snow comes to an end after midnight, but anything left untreated will likely still be slick as temperatures fall back to just above zero. Wind gusts to 20 mph could drop wind chills to around -10 by daybreak. Tomorrow is frigid with highs in the low teens and a few flurries. A Weather Alert Day continues as dangerous temperatures hold through Friday morning. The coldest morning will be Thursday as overnight lows dip below zero, potentially giving us a new record low in some spots. Wind chills will range between -15 and -20. Sunshine returns Thursday through the weekend as we gradually warm up. Friday's highs get back into the mid-20s with upper 30s expected on Saturday. Sunday is mild with highs in the upper 40s, and we can expect the warm streak to continue into next week.
