Tracking bitterly cold air tonight, some slick spots

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with gusty winds dropping temperatures into the upper single digits. Wind chills falling below zero before daybreak.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and cold with highs in the low 20s.

EXTENDED: A dusting more of accumulation is possible over the next few hours as the last bands move through the Highway 54 corridor, then our focus will shift to cold air moving in tonight. Slick spots are possible into tomorrow morning's commute as low temperatures fall to the upper single digits and strong northwest winds gust up to about 20 mph. Wind chills are expected to drop to around -3 to -5 through mid morning, before warming back into the low teens for the afternoon. Sunshine tomorrow should improve any slick roads. Friday morning is cold yet again, falling to about 10 degrees before warming into the upper 30s as winds shift to the south/southeast. Friday night, our next low pressure system approaches from the southwest, triggering showers for much of Saturday as highs reach near 40 again. Cold air plunges in on Saturday night, dropping temperatures into the low teens and switching the back edge of precipitation to light snow. Right now, little to no impacts are expected with light accumulation possible. We'll end the weekend on a cold note as highs only reach about 20 on Sunday, with 20s through the first half of next week. I'm eyeing snow chances for early next week, potentially by Tuesday.
