Tracking Wednesday widespread snow
TODAY: Tuesday is a cool and cloudy day, but mostly dry. Snow showers through the morning will mostly linger near I-44, but as the evening approaches, snow showers may increase in coverage to about HWY 50. Flurries may be possible elsewhere, but snow will be very light, leaving us mostly dry. Highs reach only near freezing today.
TONIGHT: Overnight, likely after midnight, snow showers will increase in coverage, especially west of HWY 63. This will lead to potential accumulations by Wednesday at sunrise.
EXTENDED: Wednesday is an ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day. For more, click the hyperlink to read our blog. After a day of snow, with highs in the 20s, we'll have widespread travel impacts. Some may see sleet near I-44. A cold but sunny Thursday keeps snow around as highs stick in the 20s, but more melting is expected by Friday when highs climb into the upper 30s. Another system moves in Saturday bringing rain amid temperatures above freezing to near 40, serving to further melt snowpack. We'll be monitoring this round for wintry weather as well, but currently we expect mostly rain.
