Tracking precipitation tonight into tomorrow, slick spots for parts of Mid-Missouri by morning
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with light drizzle late. Lows in the lower 30s.
TOMORROW: Freezing rain possible for areas along and north of Highway 24 early in the day, with rain and a few storms south. Highs ranging from the 30s to the 50s from north to south.
EXTENDED: Precipitation moves in tonight as a front lifts back to the north overnight, bringing light rain and eventually some light freezing rain to our northern third of counties along Highway 24. Less than 0.1" of ice accumulation is expected, but bridges and elevated areas will likely be slick through early afternoon in these areas. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from early tomorrow morning through 6:00 p.m. Wednesday for points north including and north of Moberly. Farther south, temperatures will be warmer south of the front, approaching the 50s near the Lake area. A few rumbles of thunder can't be ruled out through Wednesday night. Precipitation exits late Wednesday night, but we could deal with some lingering fog into Thursday morning. We'll be cooler to end the week with highs in the upper 40s Thursday and clearing skies as high pressure briefly settles in overhead. That will keep sunshine and cooler temperatures for Friday with highs getting just above 40. Our next low pressure system approaches and brings a shot at rain late Friday night through Saturday. While the weekend starts off with rain, it will be near 50 on Saturday with a big temperature spread area-wide. Points north of I-70 will be cooler, while points south could end up being pretty mild. Sunday is cooler across the board in the upper 30s, with the colder air and active pattern hanging on into next week.Â
