Tracking possible Thursday rain and snow

TONIGHT: Overnight lows cool to the mid-20s with mostly cloudy skies.

TOMORROW: Wednesday welcomes partly cloudy skies and highs into the upper 30s.

EXTENDED: Another clipper system is quick to roll through on Thursday. This will bring overcast skies, a slight warmup to near 40 during the afternoon, and a chance for some areas to see snow. No significant accumulations are expected thanks to light precipitation and warm ground temperatures. While we all have a chance at a trace, it's unlikely for most. The best chance at an inch or more currently lies north of Macon. Friday will bring another shot of cooler air with highs near freezing and more sunshine. The cold settles in for the weekend. We'll likely stay dry through most of Saturday, but Confidence is high in a system bringing some type of precipitation some time Sunday through Monday. This could bring winter impacts to the region, but details this far out are uncertain. Stay tuned for more.
