Tracking more clouds ahead of rain tomorrow

THIS AFTERNOON: Temperatures remain cold in the 30s for most of the area with only our far southern counties reaching the low 40s. Cloud cover fills in but rain chances remain low until late this evening.

TONIGHT: Light rain may begin in western Missouri by sundown but the better rain chance holds off until midnight or later. A cold rain is expected in Mid-MO all night, switching to freezing rain in northern Missouri outside of our area.

EXTENDED: Rain continues most of Saturday, not completely clearing until the evening. Rain totals reach 1 to 2 inches for much of the area. We'll be drier Sunday, with another system to bring rain on Monday. Highs will be cool in the 40s and 50s over the weekend, but another bitter cooldown returns later next week.
