Tracking a chilly and breezy afternoon

THIS AFTERNOON: Sunny and cool with highs struggling to reach 50 degrees. A stout breeze out of the northwest could bring gusts up to 30 mph; this will also keep the wind chill in the 40s.

TONIGHT: Temperatures drop to near freezing overnight with chilly winds continuing out of the northwest.

EXTENDED: Thursday is another blustery day with even colder temperatures as most of the day feels like the 20s and 30s. Clouds will keep some areas cooler especially north of I-70. Sunshine returns for the weekend along with a steady warmup. Friday remains cool in the 40s, warming to the 50s on Saturday and wrapping up the weekend in the 60s on Sunday. A system early next week will bring limited rain chances and a return to chilly conditions.
