Tracking a dry afternoon and Friday before weekend rain returns

TODAY: Thursday is another seasonably mild day. Some clouds will be present this morning, but plenty of sunshine is expected today. Highs will remain near but just shy of 60 degrees for most, with more sunshine than Wednesday.

TONIGHT: Clouds will increase tonight, but temperatures continue to fall into the 30s.

EXTENDED: Friday starts partly cloudy, with increasing clouds to mostly cloudy through the day. Temperatures will remain near 60. Timing is starting to come into focus for rainfall Friday night. After 9 p.m., rain will begin in the west and spread across the region overnight. Early showers will be light, with the best rain chance holding off until Saturday morning. Rain likely comes to an end from west to east through Saturday afternoon and evening. This will make the game time forecast for Mizzou Football a close call. Still, there's a decent chance of a dry game, even if the stands are a bit wet. It's likely that rainfall totals will land somewhere between a quarter inch and three quarters inch. It's unlikely that folks pick up as much as an inch with this system. Dry weather returns through early next week, but rain chances loom near midweek.
