Tracking afternoon through overnight strong to severe storms

Monday is an ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day. Showers this morning, will give way to a chance for storms this evening. Some storms may be capable of hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes if we can get enough energy to fuel these storms. While severe weather is not a guarantee, if storms gain access to enough energy, the threat for severe weather will increase quickly. Get more details from our ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day Blog. Highs remain near 70 at the warmest with many cooler thanks to off and on rain and stubborn clouds.

TONIGHT: Storms will move east around midnight, leaving the region with some quieter showers through the early morning. Temperatures fall behind the storm threat, through the morning.

EXTENDED: Temperatures may fall all day on Tuesday, from the 60s into the 50s by the afternoon. Rain will slowly clear. We'll have some dry time, but we'll stay cloudy most of the day. Sunshine returns through the rest of the week, with highs in the low 60s, but showers may return in the west by Friday afternoon. This leads to a greater rain chance as the next system moves through Saturday.
