Tracking cooler temperatures with late week storm chances

TODAY: Monday is cool and clear, with highs in the mid-70s and mostly sunny skies, thanks to high pressure that brings winds in from the ENE around 5-10 mph.

TONIGHT: High clouds move in by sunset but should still let some light through. We will see them thicken overnight, as winds remain from the ENE around 5 mph.

EXTENDED: We'll be partly cloudy Tuesday, under these high clouds, which will not likely have us overcast, but may keep temperatures somewhat cooler. We expect highs in the high 70s, with a southeasterly breeze. Winds will turn more directly from the south on Wednesday, encouraging a jump into the low 80s. Additionally, the upper level wind pattern that's blowing these high clouds into the region will be interrupted, allowing our skies to clear. An upper level wave will bring a cold front through the region Thursday, increasing cloud cover and bringing a chance at rain. However, with little available moisture, we expect a chance at a few showers at best into Friday. The support behind the front will allow for a decent cooldown behind it through the weekend. Dry weather and in the low 70s are forecast Saturday and Sunday. Early morning temperatures may dip into the low 50s and even 40s for some on Sunday.
