Tracking a cool morning before heat and humidity return by the weekend

TONIGHT: Mostly clear with patchy fog developing by daybreak. Lows in the lower 50s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and nice with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.

EXTENDED: Tonight will be our coolest of the week as lows dip into the lower 50s...we could have some upper 40s on the board across northern Missouri! With light winds, clear skies, and lows dipping to near the dew point, we could end up with some patchy fog by morning. Tomorrow looks great with highs in the upper 70s to around 80. We'll begin a warming trend on Friday as temperatures get back into the mid-80s and winds shift to the southeast. Upper high pressure begins to settle in over the weekend, and we could see a few disturbances riding along the upper part of that high this weekend into next week. The best chance to see a few showers or storms is early on Saturday, but spotty storms are also possible on Sunday. Still, we are tracking hotter weather with highs in the 90s by mid-weekend into next week. As humidity increases, we'll likely see the heat index getting to the upper 90s by Sunday.
