Tracking isolated storms and heat on the way

TONIGHT: I'm tracking rain and storms shifting to the northeast throughout the evening, allowing for some dry time through the overnight hours. Temperatures will fall into the low 70s and high 60s by the end of the night. Winds will be out of the south at 5-8 mph.

TOMORROW: I'm tracking more chances for isolated to scattered showers/storms (20%) through the late morning and afternoon hours. A mix of clouds and sunshine is expected for most, with temperatures reaching the mid 80s by the afternoon. Winds will be out of the south at 5-10 mph.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking a larger system moving through Missouri Monday morning that will bring more rainfall into the area. This initial round has the possibility to wipe out another round of storms in the afternoon hours, leaving mid-MO with more time to warm up. Starting Monday afternoon and lasting through Thursday, temperatures will be in the low to mid 90s and dewpoints will be in the low 70s due to high pressure entering from the west. This will lead to daily heat index values in the 100-105 degree range. Make sure you have multiple ways to cool off if you will be outside for a prolonged period of time next week.
