Tracking scattered storms to start the weekend, heat ramps up by Sunday into next week

TONIGHT: Isolated storms through sunset with mostly clear skies overnight. Lows in the upper 60s.

TOMORROW: Partly to mostly sunny with highs in the mid-upper 80s. Feels like the low 90s. Best chance of rain south of I-70.

EXTENDED: Spotty storms have developed as a cold front works its way south across Mid-Missouri, but most cells dissipate as we lose daytime heating. Tomorrow, with the front to our south, rain chances will be more slim. We'll be slightly cooler in the mid-80s, but humidity hangs on. With dew points rising as upper winds shift to the south over the weekend, we'll see a shot at rain and storms on Saturday with a low pressure system nearby. Rain amounts look to stay under 0.5". As this system works its way east, we'll see drier but more hot and humid weather on Sunday, with temperatures getting to near 90 with a heat index in the upper 90s. Next week will be dangerously hot by midweek as upper high pressure sets in to our south, sending highs into the 90s with heat indices increasing into the 100-106 degree range.
