Tracking showers and storms returning Thursday

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with rain and storms moving in late. Lows near 60.

TOMORROW: Scattered showers and storms, with isolated storms by afternoon. The best risk for any strong storms will be along I-44 near the cold front in the afternoon. Highs reach the mid-70s.

EXTENDED: Rain and storms thin out tomorrow afternoon into the evening as a cold front works southeast. However, another low pressure system quickly moves in behind, bringing widespread rain and a few storms for much of Friday. Severe weather isn't expected, and temperatures still make it to the 70s. Rain amounts will be around 0.5" to 1". The weekend is looking warmer and sunny, with highs in the lower to mid-80s. Next week starts off hot, with a potent storm system taking shape across the Plains on Monday. That will send a cold front through the area on Tuesday, potentially bringing some strong storms with it. We'll remain in an active pattern for much of next week with above average temperatures likely making the upper 70s to low 80s.
