Rainfall leads to improvements in current drought conditions

Mid-Missouri has seen long-standing drought that looks to be coming closer to an end. Rainfall the past month has lead to improving conditions within each weeks drought monitor.

The change in drier than normal conditions and moderate drought seem to be day and night with this mornings update in comparison to that to start the month on April 2nd.

Ground water and stream flow looks to be the main concern for lingering drought effects as highlighted in the media release from the signing of the latest executive order issued by governor Mike Parson on the 26th of April. This extension for the drought in the latest executive order last all the way through September 1st.

More rainfall is expected over the next several days which could completely eliminate any drier conditions that remain.
