Tracking a cooler weekend with areas of frost Saturday and Sunday nights

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy with lows in the lower 40s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and cool with highs in the upper 50s.

EXTENDED: As high pressure builds in, clouds will begin to clear across much of the region with lows falling below average. We'll see sunshine on Saturday, but under the influence of a northwest breeze, it will be chilly as highs only make the upper 50s. Despite more clouds Saturday night, we can expect patchy frost as highs drop into the upper 30s. Sensitive plants will need to be covered or brought inside both Saturday and Sunday nights. We'll begin to warm gradually next week as highs reach the upper 60s by Monday ahead of a cold front that will bring another shot at rain and a few storms between Monday night and Tuesday. We'll be dry on Wednesday before another storm system brings rain and storms on Thursday and Friday. Rain totals for the week will be around 0.5" to 1".
