Tracking strong storms, heavy rain tomorrow
TONIGHT: Increasing clouds and mild with lows in the upper 50s. A few storms northwest before daybreak.
TOMORROW: Showers and storms likely, some may be severe with damaging winds and heavy rain. Highs in the upper 60s to around 70.
EXTENDED: Yet another round of strong storms develops on the northern side of low pressure overnight into tomorrow morning, moving into Mid-Missouri after sunrise. Storms look to intensify as the late morning and early afternoon wears on, with the highest risk of strong 60+mph winds south of I-70 through late afternoon. A line of storms will likely move into our northwestern counties sometime between 7-9AM, Columbia and Jefferson City around midday, and then Lake of the Ozarks area/I-44 between 2-4PM. The severe threat will decrease by early evening as storms exit southeast. Rain totals will be in the 0.5" to 1" range. Behind the cold front, it's chillier by Friday morning as temperatures drop into the 40s and only make the upper 50s to low 60s during the day. The weekend is cooler than normal as highs reach the upper 50s to around 60 through Sunday. We'll gradually warm up into next week, with rain chances returning by late Tuesday into Wednesday.
