Tracking spotty showers and gusty winds into Thursday
TONIGHT: Cloudy with scattered showers. Lows in the upper 40s to around 50.
TOMORROW: Mostly cloudy with a few spotty showers. Breezy, with northwest winds gusting between 35-40 mph. Highs in the lower 60s.
EXTENDED: I'll be tracking a slight uptick in showers, with a sharp cutoff between widespread rain and dry weather overnight into tomorrow morning. The best chance for measurable rain through tomorrow will be along and east of Highway 54. Rain amounts for many of us will be around 0.25" or so, but will be higher to the east of that corridor and south of I-44. As low pressure tracks into Illinois and Indiana tomorrow, we'll see clouds and gusty winds on the other side, with gusts potentially as high as 40 mph from the northwest. That will keep temperatures in the lower 60s tomorrow. We'll still be breezy on Friday as winds begin to shift back to the southwest. We'll see more sunshine and highs in the upper 60s to around 70. The weekend is even warmer with a significant rise in temperatures into the lower 80s. With warmer air in place next week, we'll be tracking a more active pattern as a chance of storms returns later on Monday into Tuesday, and at the end of next week. The chance for a few strong storms will pick up during these time frames as we'll be more unstable with higher dew points.
