Tracking limited rain chances Wednesday and Thursday

TODAY: Wednesday is a cloudy day for most, and a wet day for some, especially in the afternoon. Not everyone will see rain, and even fewer will see significant rain. Very light rain will be possible southeast of a line from Sedalia to Paris from late Wednesday morning through the overnight hours. This is most of mid-Missouri, but actual precipitation for most will be very light and intermittent. The best chance of moderate rainfall will be south of Jefferson City, likely closer to Vienna, Waynesville, and Rolla. Even here, folks will likely receive less than half an inch of rain before it exits overnight. Temperatures remain in the 60s thanks to clouds and rainfall. A few 50s may be possible in the better rainfall along I-44, but even here 60s are forecast. Columbia and Jefferson City are likely to receive no more than a tenth of an inch, with Columbia potentially only receiving a trace at best.

TONIGHT: Rain will taper off after midnight, but clouds linger into the early hours of Thursday. This keeps temperatures near 50 through sunrise.

EXTENDED: We'll likely see clouds breaking up through the morning on Thursday, but we stay partly cloudy into the afternoon, where a few spotty showers will be possible from Columbia and Jefferson City to the east. Temperatures on Thursday remain in the 60s. We'll be drier and sunny on Friday, but northerly flow keeps us in the 60s. Southerly flow returns Friday afternoon, leading to a warmer day on Saturday. We'll near 80 degrees on Saturday, before more sunshine and south winds push us a few degrees warmer on Sunday. 80 degree temperatures and more moisture will contribute to storm chances as a disturbance moves in from the west on Monday evening.
