Tracking stubborn clouds and shower chances.

TODAY: An area of low pressure sits just north east of mid-Missouri, near the great lakes region. This has us in persistent northwest flow, with stubborn clouds and hit and miss showers in the forecast today. Showers are mostly morning focused, but clouds and winds will likely keep us cool today. Winds are sustained at 15-20 mph and may gust as high as 40 mph. Highs are expected to range from mid-40s to low 50s.

TONIGHT: We'll have clouds lingering for some overnight, keeping temperatures in the 30s overnight. Some showers are possible in the east, near Montgomery City, but most should be dry.

EXTENDED: Most of Thursday is this way as well, with shower chances in the east, and broken clouds possible in the west. This gives us another day with 40s possible in the east, and 50s likely in the west. Again on Friday, we'll have better chances of clouds and a spot shower in the east early in the day, but by this point, we'll see that a smaller concern. We should start to warm with more sunshine in the afternoon, leading to a high near 60. More sunshine helps to warm us into the 60s Saturday. A warm front lifts into the region, bringing a chance at showers and highs in the 70s. We'll be warm, with partly cloudy skies Monday and Tuesday. Clouds will be in the forecast for the eclipse, but it doesn't look overcast as of now, at least in mid-Missouri.
