Tracking isolated storms tonight and widespread activity tomorrow

TONIGHT: I'm tracking the chance for isolated storms to develop to the north of I-70 throughout the rest of the evening. If any storms become strong to severe, hail will be the main concern. Temperatures will only drop into the low 60s by the end of the night because of persistent cloud cover.

TOMORROW: Monday is an ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day for widespread severe storm potential. I'm tracking isolated showers along and to the north of I-70 along with cloud cover sticking around in the morning hours. These factors could limit storm strength during the afternoon hours. The first set of storms is set to develop in central Missouri through the late morning hours into the afternoon hours. Another round of widespread storms is expected to pass through in the mid to late afternoon hours. Both storm systems will have the ability to produce severe weather, with the first system more likely to produce hail. The second system will have the ability to produce hail, strong winds, and even a tornado threat. The amount of storms that become severe all depend on what happens overnight Sunday into Monday morning. EXTENDED: I'm tracking showers and rumbles of thunder sticking around into Tuesday morning before clearing up in the afternoon and evening hours. Temperatures will be much cooler behind the cold front that is causing severe weather potential on Monday. Throughout the majority of the week, mid-MO will be in the mid to upper 50s before breaking 60 by Friday. Expect plenty of sunshine after Tuesday that lasts throughout the rest of the week.
