Tracking rain into this evening, much cooler Tuesday

THIS AFTERNOON: Steady rain with a few rumbles of thunder. Additional 0.5" to 1" rain expected, especially east of Highway 63. Highs near 60.

TONIGHT: Scattered showers and mostly cloudy. Cold and breezy with lows in the mid-upper 30s.

EXTENDED: Low pressure slowly works to the northeast tonight into tomorrow, keeping stubborn clouds over Mid-Missouri along with a few wrap-around showers into Tuesday morning. It's much chillier tomorrow with highs only making the low to mid-40s. Skies clear out tomorrow night, allowing colder high pressure to settle in overhead and temperatures to drop into the upper 20s. Wednesday is sunny but still slightly cooler than average with highs in the lower 50s. We begin to warm up as upper winds shift back to the southwest Thursday and highs get into the 60s again. We'll be tracking a big warm up heading into the holiday weekend as highs reach the lower 70s Friday and Saturday. A cold front is expected to move through between Saturday night and Sunday, and that could bring a chance for scattered storms along with a potential cool down for Easter Sunday, but we'll have to watch the timing closely for outdoor plans.
