Tracking limited rain this afternoon

THIS AFTERNOON: Highs soar back to above average in the upper 60s ahead of a cold front. With little to no moisture at the surface, expect a light rain at most this afternoon.

TONIGHT: Temperatures drop behind the front with a freeze possible into the weekend. Lows will fall to the lower 30s.

EXTENDED: We'll be cooler with highs in the lower 50s on Saturday and dry air persists into early Sunday. Another cold front brings rain and a storm or two overnight into Monday but rain amounts are dropping with this system. We expect less than an inch of rain for most of the area with higher amounts just east. After the cold front passes on Monday night, it will be chilly with temperatures dropping to near freezing on Tuesday morning and only reaching the upper 40s by afternoon. Toward the end of the week, as we get closer to the holiday weekend, highs reach the 60s again on Thursday, but a stronger low pressure system could bring more rain to the area.
