Tracking scattered severe storms through this evening, cooler Friday

TONIGHT: Scattered strong to severe storms push southeast late tonight, with the severe threat ending by or before 10PM. Temperatures dropping into the mid-40s with cloudy skies.

TOMORROW: Clouds early and cooler with highs in the upper 50s to around 60 with late day sunshine.

EXTENDED: Scattered strong storms have developed ahead of a cold front that will move through tonight, bringing the threat for very large hail, 60 mph winds, and isolated tornadoes through about 9PM. Showers and storms exit well before midnight, leaving us with clouds and cooler temperatures for Friday morning as we drop into the mid-40s. Clouds gradually decrease with winds coming in from the north-northwest, with highs getting back into the upper 50s to around 60. The weekend starts off pleasant in the 60s with more sunshine on Saturday, but a cold front moves in and brings us down to the low 50s by Sunday. A colder air mass moves in from the north on Sunday night, pulling temperatures down below freezing on Monday morning and only into the upper 40s for highs. We'll gradually warm back into the upper 50s to around 60 by midweek.
