Tracking a warm week with conditional storm chances

TODAY: Monday will be a continuation of our warm up, with highs expected near 70 under sunny skies.

TONIGHT: Clouds will gradually fill in after midnight, allowing for partly cloudy skies by sunrise Tuesday. We'll stay mild, with temperatures falling only to mid-40s.

EXTENDED: Tuesday is largely a dry day, with temperatures climbing into the 70s. Depending partly on temperatures, storms could develop in or just west of our western most counties by the evening. An storms that develop could become strong to severe, however there is still uncertainty as to whether or not development will occur. If it does, chances will focus around the dinner hour or later. A slightly better chance for thunderstorms arrives Wednesday, after another day in the 70s. Chances for storms will center across mid-Missouri. Similarly, storm chances are best in the late afternoon and early evening, and if they do develop, we'll have a chance for them to become strong to severe. our main threats with both events will be wind and hail. Our chance for storms shifts east on Thursday, to our eastern counties, and I-44. This threat may just leave mid-Missouri all together depending on timing, but it's uncertain, so a chance remains. Drier weather returns Friday, with cooler temperatures. We'll be in the 60s Friday and Saturday. Another round of rain returns on Saturday night into Sunday, as temperatures get clipped, dropping highs into the 50s by Sunday.
