Tracking a mild and windy Friday with evening rain

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and breezy with lows in the lower 40s. Wind gusts up to 25 mph.

TOMORROW: Breezy and warm with sunshine and highs in the upper 60s to around 70. Wind gusts up to 25 mph.

EXTENDED: Winds die down a bit tonight, but we'll still see gusts up to 25 mph overnight with lows falling into the lower 40s. Tomorrow will be almost just as warm in the upper 60s to near 70 with 25 mph wind gusts possible. As a cold front approaches, we could see a few showers and thunderstorms between about 6pm and midnight. Behind the front it's chillier for Saturday as highs only reach the upper 40s. Sunday is cold with morning temperatures near freezing and afternoon highs near our seasonal average in the lower 40s. Low pressure tracking to our south could send rain in our direction by evening, and potentially some snow overnight into Monday morning. There are still a few factors we are considering for any snowfall amount forecast. Right now, if the track stays where it is across southern Missouri/northern Arkansas, the best chance for snowfall would be south of I-70. There's a chance the cold air won't move in quickly enough, limiting any accumulation. We'll also have to factor in the warm ground temperatures over the last several days. If the storm can strengthen a bit more and move in with the coldest air, a heavier band of snow could set up into early Monday morning. After precipitation exits, we'll see highs in the mid-40s on Monday. The rest of the week is mild with highs in the upper 40s to lower 50s.
