Tracking the exit of cloudy weather and the return of warmth
TODAY: More fog is expected this morning, with clouds lingering after it clears, leaving Saturday gray. We may also see some light showers in out southeastern counties through the day. Rain chances are best near I-44, and taper off greatly towards Columbia. Still, expect a few light showers on and off through the day in Columbia and Jefferson City. Expect a high in the upper 30s, near 40.
TONIGHT: Rain pivots away this evening, but we'll keep clouds overnight. Some drizzle may be possible early Sunday, but precipitation largely ends tonight.
EXTENDED: Sunday is cloudy and cool, with highs expected again near 40. High pressure settles Sunday night, keeping us cold Monday morning, but as it moves away, south winds and the return of sunshine will boost temperatures to low 50s. This comes ahead of a cold front on Tuesday, that drops us back into the 40s both Tuesday and Wednesday. Still above average, temperatures climb again late in the week, back into the 50s on Thursday, likely through the weekend. 60s are starting to look unlikely, but dry weather and sunshine remain through the rest of the week, until rain chances return, at soonest, over next weekend.
