Tracking a dreary end to the week with sun and warmth on the way

TODAY: Friday is another gloomy day. Rain has exited, but we'll still be tracking fog through the morning, before it clears this afternoon. Clouds remain all day.

TONIGHT: Clouds hold overnight, and more fog is possible overnight into Saturday, but to a lesser degree than Friday.

EXTENDED: Clouds remain for Saturday, with a chance for showers. Rain chances are best south and east of Columbia. Expect cooler air over the weekend, with high temperatures just touching 40 both Saturday and Sunday. Rain clears for Sunday, but we'll be mostly cloudy before sunshine returns on Monday. Sunshine and southerly flow help get temperatures to warm quickly to near 50 on Monday. Our overall patter supports warmer temperatures and sunshine next week, with highs forecast in the low 50s through Thursday of next week, and upper 50s, if not 60s, possible by next weekend.
