Tracking dangerous wind chills and light snow by tomorrow afternoon

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy and bitterly cold with lows around -7 degrees. Wind chills between -20 and 25 by daybreak.

TOMORROW: Mostly cloudy with afternoon snow showers that could bring a dusting of accumulation. Highs near 5 degrees with wind chills around -10.

EXTENDED: Dangerously cold wind chills continue into Monday with lows falling to around 5 to 7 degrees below zero overnight. Wind chills fall to about -20 to -25 by Monday morning. Clouds set in ahead of a fast-moving clipper system that will slide in from the west-northwest by afternoon. We could see up to a dusting of accumulation through early evening, so there could be some isolated slick spots on the roads with temperatures only reaching about 5 above during the day. Tuesday starts off a few degrees below zero and will bring more sunshine by afternoon, getting us back into the teens. The Weather Alert Day expires on Wednesday morning as lows fall into the lower single digits and sunshine warms us back to about the freezing mark by afternoon. We'll see clouds increase on Thursday ahead of a dry cold front that will bring a cool down that could trigger another Weather Alert Day for Friday morning as lows fall into the mid-single digits with highs in the lower teens. The cold air looks to stick around through the weekend with lows around zero on Saturday morning with highs only making the upper teens.
