Tracking a cold start to the new year

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy and cold with lows in the mid-20s. Wind chills in the upper teens.

TOMORROW: Gradual clearing and cold with highs in the mid-upper 30s.

EXTENDED: Clouds stick around tonight in the wake of a cold front that moved through last night. Winds will diminish tonight, but a light breeze keeps wind chills around 20 degrees by midnight. Clouds stick around to start Monday, but gradually decrease during the day. Highs reach the upper 30s. A disturbance rolls through between Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing a few more clouds, but winds will shift back to the southwest, allowing highs to get back into the lower 40s. A weak front slides through by Thursday, dropping temperatures into the upper 30s again. We'll end the week with another low pressure system moving in from the west and bringing a chance for rain by Friday night. As temperatures drop Friday night, some of that precipitation could change over to snow to start Saturday.
