Tracking a warm and dry afternoon before showers return Thursday night

TODAY: Afternoon highs warm into the mid-50s spurred by winds out of the southwest at 8-12 mph. Skies see an increase in cloud cover as the afternoon continues.

TONIGHT: Overnight lows cool to the lower 40s with mostly cloudy skies. Winds remain out of the southwest at 5-10 mph.

EXTENDED: Thursday begins dry as highs reach into the mid-50s once again. Late Thursday night/ Friday morning sees widespread showers that tapper of to the east late Friday afternoon. Shower chances remain low through Saturday but increase on Christmas Eve and Day as a low pressure center sweeps overhead just to the north. Highs reach at or just below 60 degrees Sunday and Monday before falling into the 40s mid-week next week.
