Tracking warmer and wetter weather ahead

TODAY: Tuesday starts colder than Monday with high pressure overhead, but as that pushes eastward, winds will turn from the south and we should warm back into the low 40s, similar to Monday afternoon. Overall, it's another chilly day under mostly sunny skies.

TONIGHT: Skies will be mostly clear overnight, with a light south breeze keeping us in the 20s rather than the teens.

EXTENDED: Wednesday starts cold, but a stark warm up occurs through the day, lifting temperatures into the low-to-mid 50s. Southerly flow will usher in more moisture as well, leading to showers as soon as Thursday morning for some. This will come ahead of a low pressure system, that will enhance rain chances as it nears. While chances for showers will be present through the day, the best chances for significant rain will come overnight into Friday morning as the low passes. The exact track of this low is uncertain. Two separate tracks will bring two separate possibilities, with a northerly track bringing the possibility of thunder, or a southern track bringing in the possibility of a brief mix on the back end. In either case, strong storms or accumulating snow is not expected. This track may also impact the amount of rain and coverage. We will likely see measurable rain, from this event, with totals reaching near half an inch for many, and more possible locally. Temperatures will still reach 50 on Thursday, but remain in the 40s on Friday as we exit the cool side of the system. The weekend brings more uncertainty, as upper level shortwaves deal a glancing blow Saturday and Sunday. Timing and rain chances are uncertain, so we'll keep a low chance at rain both days, with highs forecast near 50 into early next week.
