Tracking a seasonable weekend, a wet start to next week, and a chilly Thanksgiving

TODAY: Friday will be noticeably cooler, more so this afternoon than this morning. Temperatures will start warm, but a cold front moving through the region early this morning will have temperatures stunted in the mid-50s for highs. Additionally, it will be a breezy day, as winds roll in from the north behind the front. It won't be as windy as yesterday, but it will feel quite a bit cooler. The one saving grace is that it won't feel too bad in the sun and out of the wind as skies will be mostly clear.

TONIGHT: Skies stay clear overnight, and lead to a subfreezing start early Saturday. As clear and calm conditions settle in along with high pressure, radiational cooling will help drop temps efficiently below that 32 degree mark.

EXTENDED: Saturday will be mild, with abundant sunshine, and temperatures in the upper 50s. Clouds will fill in on Sunday ahead of an approaching low pressure system that will ultimately slide just south of us. This will bring rain late Sunday night, and keep rain in the forecast through Tuesday morning. Monday will be rainy and cool, with a high near 50. Multiple waves of rain from Sunday night through Tuesday morning will result in anywhere between a quarter of an inch to just over an inch in some spots, with the greatest totals coming near I-44 and The Lake of the Ozarks, closer to the low track. Behind this low, even more cold air wraps in, dropping forecast highs into the 40s Tuesday through Thursday. Thanksgiving is looking relatively chilly, as lows are forecast near 20 and highs near 40 thanks to some cold air blowing into the region. Wednesday, and possibly Thursday could be quite breezy. with winds sustained around 10-20 mph.
