Tracking a warm and dry first half of the week
TODAY: Welcome back to the 70's, mid-Missouri. South to southwest winds through the morning and early afternoon will bring temperatures to mid-70s for highs this afternoon. This warm up is ahead of a cold front that will arrive this evening. The front really doesn't do much other than shift our winds from the north, increase clouds, and bring us at most a few sprinkles. Still, we expect an overall dry evening as moisture with this system very lacking.
TONIGHT: The front will switch winds to a more northerly direction temporarily. Winds will likely be back out of the southeast by sunrise. Skies will clear as this happens, leaving the possibility of a sunrise to start Tuesday.
EXTENDED: Starting in the mid-50s, we'll be well warm enough to make a run at the upper-70s for highs on Tuesday. We'll do this again on Wednesday. Both days will be breezy with southerly winds. Our next cold front will slide through the region on Wednesday evening, again with little moisture so we expect to stay dry. The front will stall somewhere to our southeast on Thursday, allowing for rain chances near or south of I-44 on Thursday, but conditions are likely dry for most of the region. We will be noticeably cooler on Thursday, with highs in the 50s under sunny skies. Sunshine sticks around into the weekend, with highs in the 50s through Sunday.
