Tracking a warm end to the week ahead of a more mild pattern

TODAY: Wednesday is a warmer day despite a cooler start. Expect temperatures to reach mid-to-upper 40s under sunny skies with south winds this afternoon.

TONIGHT: Winds remain southerly, and some mid-level clouds work in overnight. This will keep temperatures slightly warmer, but we're still near and below freezing across the region by sunrise Thursday.

EXTENDED: Thursday will feel almost normal, as south winds and sunshine get temperatures into the 50s. We'll reach 60s by Friday. Saturday brings upper 60s, ahead of a cold front that night. This will be a limited chance for rain as moisture return ahead of the front is weak, leaving a chance for overnight rain. It also doesn't alter our temperatures much as there isn't much cold air support behind the front. This will be the first of two fronts from upper-level disturbances that will generate a chance for rain, but lack any significant cold air behind them. This keeps us in the 60s into early next week, with a rain chance again Sunday night/Monday morning, and again Tuesday night. Temperatures may drop back into the 50s or upper 40s early next week, with a slow cooling trend into late next week, but the arctic blast that we felt early this week doesn't look to return at least in this forecast.
