Tracking a widespread afternoon showers before a weekend cool down

Today: Afternoon highs climb into the upper 70s with widespread showers after 3 pm. Winds remain out of the south at 8-12 mph with gusts up to 25 mph possible.

Tonight: Overnight lows cool to the lower 60s with scattered showers and storms.

Extended: The rest of the week sees above average highs into the mid-70s with shower chances. A significant cool down arrives into Saturday and Sunday with more chances of showers. Highs continue to cool approaching Halloween.
