Tracking rounds of needed rain and storms this week
TONIGHT: Increasing clouds, breezy and warm with lows in the lower 60s.
TOMORROW: Mostly cloudy with showers by mid-morning. Breezy with highs in the upper 70s.
EXTENDED: We're tracking cloud cover that moves in tonight ahead of our next chance of rain. The theme of the week will be warm and wet with rounds of rain and storms just about each day with some dry time in between. Tomorrow, light rain begins to move in from the south/southwest by mid-morning and press north throughout the day. Rain will be light but we'll need the umbrella through much of the afternoon. We'll get a break early Wednesday, but temperatures still manage to make it to the upper 70s. Rain returns Wednesday night into Thursday as a stronger low pressure system enters the region and tracks northeast, bringing a cold front into the area by Friday. Temperatures north of the front will be cooler than normal into the weekend, while further south we'll likely be around average in the upper 60s. The front either stalls or wavers across Mid-Missouri through Sunday before departing early next week to leave us with much cooler temperatures. Rain amounts for the entire 7-day period will be beneficial, with 2-3" likely. The weekend is looking cooler if the front stays more to our south, with current forecast highs in the upper 50s to around 60. Once the pattern begins to dry out, we'll be chilly to start next week with morning lows in the 30s and highs near 50 next Monday. We could be in for our first frost next week with a chilly Halloween ahead.
