Tracking warmth ahead of another rain chance

TODAY: Thunderstorms passed through early this morning, and a few showers may linger through sunrise, but a drier day ahead is expected. Wednesday will be partly cloudy, warm, and breezy south of the warm front that triggered morning rain. Expect a high near 80 today.

TONIGHT: Another warm night is expected, with temperatures near 60 expected as the low near sunrise Thursday.

EXTENDED: It's a sunny and breezy day on Thursday, with winds gusting higher than Wednesday, up to 30 mph at times. This will drive temperatures back into the low 80s. We will remain sunny for most of the day, but rain chances will increase as low level winds pick up Thursday night, ahead of a cold front moving in from the west. Showers and storms will precede the front after sunset and mostly through the early morning hours on Friday. The cold front will pass through in the early hours on Friday, drying us up and clearing us out by Friday afternoon. This will leave highs in the 60s on Friday, and in the 50s over the weekend. Clouds will be thick on Friday, so it's unlikely that we'll have a view of the Solar Eclipse, but the sun should try to peak out on Sunday. Between this morning's rain and Friday's totals are expected near a half inch at most in the north, with less to the south.
