Tracking a cooler and blustery Friday

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and chilly with lows falling into the upper 40s. Winds gusting up to 20 mph.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny to start with increasing clouds by mid-late afternoon. Breezy with highs in the mid-60s and northwest wind gusts up to 30 mph.

EXTENDED: A secondary cold front is working through the region this evening, bringing much cooler fall like air to Mid-Missouri to close out the week. I'm tracking gusty winds picking up to about 20 mph overnight, making the upper 40s feel quite chilly tomorrow morning. Friday is breezy with gusts up to 30 mph as a weak disturbance brings a batch of clouds and perhaps a few sprinkles by mid-late afternoon. Winds stick around into Saturday, giving us a wind chill in the mid-30s on Saturday afternoon. Otherwise it's a bright weekend with highs in the lower 60s on Saturday. Sunday morning starts off in the upper 30s to around 40, and we could have some patchy frost with winds calming down quite a bit overnight. Sunday afternoon is picture perfect with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. Next week, we'll start warming back above average by mid-week as a short lived upper high pressure ridge settles over Mid-Missouri. The pattern gets more active by the end of the week with a deeper low pressure system diving across the Midwest, bringing a chance for rain between Wednesday and Thursday and cooler air into next weekend.
