Tracking heat and humidity on Friday and through the weekend

TONIGHT: Mostly clear with a few more clouds south of I-70. Lows in the mid-60s.

TOMORROW: A few clouds early, becoming mostly sunny with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s.

EXTENDED: A few spot showers are possible across southeast Missouri overnight, otherwise we can expect partly cloudy to mostly clear skies into Friday morning. Lows fall into the mid-60s by morning, rising into the upper 80s to around 90 by late afternoon. The weekend is hot, with highs on Saturday reaching near 90 again with heat indices around 92. Sunshine continues into Sunday with highs in the upper 80s to around 90, without much of a cool down on the way into early next week. Upper high pressure prevails through Tuesday as temperatures remain well above average in the mid-80s. A stronger upper low pressure system finally forces the high east on Wednesday, pulling a cold front through Mid-Missouri. Showers and storms will be possible Wednesday, with a cool down on the way thereafter. We anticipate temperatures dropping into the 70s by Thursday afternoon, with more fall like air continuing into next weekend.
