Tracking Saturday storm chances
TODAY: Friday will be a bright day, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures just near 80. Sensibly, our weather will be about identical to the past two days.
TONIGHT: Clouds will clear initially tonight, before clouds increase overnight into early Saturday.
EXTENDED: The cold front will slow and stall out to our west, but clouds and showers will drift in through mid-morning. Then, another cold front will make progress into the region by the afternoon. This secondary push will bring a chance for isolated thunderstorms through late afternoon and into the evening. Any severe threat will be limited, but an isolated strong storm cannot be ruled out if we do see a decent amount of instability. The trend has been increasing instability recently, despite morning rain and cloud cover. Expect highs in the 70s Saturday and Sunday, before we reach low 80s next week. Rain chances return by the middle of next week.
