Tracking scattered showers and storms with high heat

Today:: Afternoon highs climb into the lower 90s with the heat index potentially reaching up to 103 degrees. Two rounds of showers and storms will make their way through Mid-Missouri throughout Tuesday. The first will last from 7AM until 1PM. A few strong storms may become possible with this first round producing stronger winds and some heavy downpours.

Tonight: The second round of showers and storms begins around 7PM lasting through 2AM Wednesday morning as a cold front moves through from the northwest. A few strong to possibly severe storms remain possible with this system with strong winds up to 60 mph and isolated large hail up to 1" in diameter remaining possible. Overnight lows cool to the upper 60s.

Extended: The rest of the week sees highs into the lower 80s with drier conditions. Another possible cold front looks to move into the region Monday driving more chances of showers and storms.
