Tracking the end of our heat wave and the beginnings of cooler weather

TONIGHT: Some clouds will remain from this evening through the overnight hours. Expect temperatures to remain warm under mostly clear skies, with a light south breeze.

TOMORROW: Temperatures start in the upper 70s once again on Thursday, and with plenty of sunshine under a partly cloudy sky, temperatures will climb to near 100. Thursday is an ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day, as humidity will be high enough to make us feel like 105-115 in the afternoon.

EXTENDED: Friday will be the last day of this extreme heat, as a cold front arrives Friday night. Heat index values climb once more above 105, as actual temperatures record in the upper 90s. We will see a wind shift Friday night, but a cool down is likely lagging into Saturday. Highs in the 80s, and clouds will arrive Saturday, with a chance for rain. Rain chances are still slim, but are most likely in the evening and overnight into Sunday. Sunday's highs are likely in the low 80s, making for an even cooler day. Sunshine and mild air is the forecast for early next week, as we have daily highs in the low-to-mid 80s.
