Tracking excessive moisture and heat early this week
TODAY: A Weather Alert Day is in effect Sunday for the hottest conditions of the summer yet, with the heat index soaring to near or above 110 degrees. Dewpoints today will reach the upper 70s, and the most humid areas could feel closer to 115.
TOMORROW: Humidity remains high Monday, with the heat index again up to 110 degrees. Some areas could even outperform the previous day's heat as moisture becomes more widespread.
EXTENDED: A string of Weather Alert Days continues through Wednesday as the dangerous heat sticks around. Every day through this time period will see temperatures in the high 90s to low triple digits and heat index values in the 105-110 range, which can be dangerous for even healthy adults to have long exposure to. Overnight conditions will also be noticeably warm as temperatures hold in the upper 70s. This intense heat could stick around through Thursday, as temperatures will still be in the high 90s and possibly low 100s. Luckily, it does seem like we could see a little bit of relief by Saturday with a cooldown near average.
