Tracking a mild week ahead of a weekend heat wave
TONIGHT: Skies remain mostly clear despite some high clouds overhead. Temperatures will remain in the 60s through sunrise thanks to a south breeze.
TOMORROW: Temperatures climb into the mid-80s on Thursday, thanks to mostly sunny skies and a continued south breeze. A weak cold front arrives midday on Thursday, but has little impact on temperatures until Friday morning.
EXTENDED: We'll have another morning potentially in the 50s on Friday, before again warming into the low 80s, much like what we experienced on Wednesday. By Saturday, better southerly flow returns, and we expect 90s to return. This heat becomes trapped and accentuated by an upper level high pressure moving overhead. This will keep the heat on into Sunday, where continued low level flow from the south brings us temps in the high 90s and dew points in the 70s. This has us feeling hot and humid with heat index values possibly reaching the 105-110 window. It remains hot and sunny into next week, with 90s about every day.
