Tracking a chilly morning ahead of a return to heat

TONIGHT: Cool weather sticks around, at least for the near term. Skies will continue as high pressure nudges into the region overnight. This brings clear, calm, and cool conditions into the early morning hours Wednesday.

TOMORROW: We'll start in the 50s across much of mid-Missouri, with some river valley fog, and likely near other bodies of water. Wednesday's winds turn back from the south by the afternoon. This and more sunshine is enough to put us back in the 80s by the heat of the day.

EXTENDED: Sunshine is the story each day through the rest of the seven day forecast. This is largely from upper level high pressure moving in. This keeps us dry, and on a warming trend into the weekend. Highs settle in the 80s through Friday, but reach into the 90s Saturday and Sunday. Partnered with increasing humidity, this will make for more sticky and humid heat this weekend. This trend looks like it sticks around well into the middle of next week. We may not see meaningful relief until next weekend.
